Week 15 with Triplets

Week of October 11, 2021

This week we ran an errand with the triplets to JOANN’s in search of the cutest fleece material to make blankets. It’s starting to get colder and babies can’t safely wear coats in their car seats, so they needed nice warm blankets.

The babies were great at the store. Lots to see and keep them distracted. Plus, making friends with everyone they met in the store.

We picked out colors that match each baby* and kept the patterns simple. It is important to their parents that the babies establish their own likes and preferences as they mature.

Sensory Exercise

Later in the week their mother set up a sensory exercise during a visit by the triplet’s great grandparents.

We’d already been working on sitting up in their Bumbos and then their great aunt made a delivery of dishes and utensils for the triplets. Their mom took it as an opportunity for water play using the Bumbo trays, warm water, wash clothes and forks and spoons.

It was a mix of enthusiasm from the babies but they were all fully engaged. All three focused on every aspect of the activity and it was so much fun for the adults. Afterword, they got dried off with a fresh set of clothes and took a nice long nap.

Halloween Park

Over the weekend the triplet’s aunt, uncle and cousins came into town for the first time to meet the trio, and visa versa, making for a very special visit.

Being the Halloween season, it was also a perfect time to take the whole crew to Skinny Bones for a fun day out.

Baby C took advantage of the nice weather to nap in the WonderFold wagon the entire trip. Meanwhile, the girls had a blast playing in the corn pile, meeting the animals in the petting zoo and generally checking out the sights.

Firsts are very special, but they’ll continue to get more and more fun each year.
