Week 9 with Triplets

Leveled up on our Dr. Brown’s bottle nipples this week from Level 1 to Level 2 (hard not to think in terms of a video game on these milestones).  It just seemed like Baby A was working hard to drink, so I suggested bumping them up to the next size of nipple. 

Turns out Baby A is just dramatic during feedings and couldn’t quite handle the extra flow, but the other two excelled.  Jumped on Amazon to order another 18 nipples (in addition to the small supply we had on hand).

The babies, we believe, have been able to see us for a while, but this week they really started tracking people.  Now, when getting each baby propped with a bottle, the others follow you.  Waiting patiently for their turn to eat.  It’s not creepy at all.

Two Month Health Check

This week was the triplet’s two month check-up (technically we’re at 9-½ weeks).  Everyone was perfectly healthy and successfully navigated their developmental milestone tests. 

Received their first series of vaccines, which went as you’d expect but everyone did a nice job of calming back down, and then went home for a long nap. 

  • Baby A – 10 lbs 5 oz, 21-½ inches
  • Baby B – 9 lbs 10 oz, 21-½ inches
  • Baby C – 11 lbs 9 oz, 23-½ inches

Personalities

Baby A seems to be working through her colicky phase.  Longer periods of happy play and peaceful sleeping.  

Baby B can become very animated when she sleeps.  She will cry and flail, but still be totally asleep.  Her first giggles have come while she’s sleeping but not yet when awake, so I’d love to know what she’s dreaming about.

Baby C is so chill.  Apparently he’s been waking up in the middle of the night happy and playful, while everyone else is trying to sleep. 

Garage Sales

I stopped at a garage sale with two exersaucers, a bouncer with electronic toy hoop and a play mat.  Made a deal on the whole lot but gave the play mat to my youngest daughter’s cat.

Picked up six Dr. Brown’s bottles, increasing the supply at our house in anticipation of longer visits.  Also found two audio baby monitors for nap time.
